Well. This is me. My name is Anna Illes Elliot, and I'm a 22 year-old Straight Edge indie/emo/punk kid living in Southern California.
I like a lot of different kinds of music, but I was raised on jazz, blues and opera. I'm just as likely to be singing an aria from La Traviata as 'Our Lady of Sorrows' by the fabulous MCR. I also love bands such as A.F.I. (I'm a DF member!), Cursive, The Murder City Devils, Hot Snakes, Reggie and the Full Effect, The Anniversary, The Get Up Kids (pre "On A Wire"), Jimmy Eat World, Black Heart Procession, The Faint, Alkaline Trio, Fiona Apple, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Elliot Smith, The Lapse, etc. etc. etc. If you don't recognize some of those band names, I HIGHLY recommend you go check them out... Because they rock.
Aside from music, some of my hobbies include getting tattoos, fronting my band (Breathing By Wires), reading, going to the movies, playing with my kitten, sewing DIY clothing, sewing historical costumes, acting, writing, working on this little website I have, dancing, and sleeping, when I can manage it. I get to sleep a lot more now that I've finally graduated from college. I graduated with a double major in Literature and History, or as my friends say, Pretension and Uselessness. Eventually I want to go to law school, but I'm a bit burned out on school by this point so that's on hold for the moment.
I just started a new job working as the Music Programming Coordinator at Systems Mobile Inc. We run a service called mobZilla, which allows you to stream radio stations on your cell phone. I'm in charge of programming new stations and updating all the old ones. It's enjoyable and pays pretty well, and the best thing is that TIP is the reason I got the job :) I knew spending so much time on this site would be useful in general!
So, that's really all there is to me. I go to a lot of shows in the SoCal area, so if you ever see me, don't hesitate to say hello! Nothing makes me happier than meeting fellow TIPsters :) Also, if you like, be my friend on MySpace.
