Q: Is TIP affiliated with MCR?

A: Nope, not even a little bit. TIP is a FANsite. The official site can be found at www.mychemicalromance.com

Q: Was TIP linked on the official site?

A: Yes, it was. In the course of their browsing, some members of MCR came across TIP and really enjoyed it. Shortly thereafter, a link was posted on the site with the message "Check out... a new MCR megafansite! Don't miss theimmortalityproject.com, a megafansite that even runs its own contests. Word."

Q: Is The Immortality Project REALLY endorsed by members of MCR?

A: Yes! Anna spoke to all the members of MCR at the House of Blues AP Party on May 25th, 2005. When she mentioned her website to Gerard, he told her he loved it and had visited it several times. He went on to say "I totally endorse your website!" So, there you have it. He has also been known to call Anna a "rad chick." Just so you know.

Q: Where did the name "The Immortality Project" come from?

A: Anna named the site after the line "Oh how wrong we were to think that immortality meant never dying," which is her favorite MCR lyric (and Gerard's as well).

Q: How much time does it take to run TIP?

A: A LOT. Anna has been known to spend over eight hours a day writing code, uploading videos and searching for cool MCR stuff for the site. She's also been known to update as many as ten times in one day. On average, she probably spends about two hours a day working on the site, and another hour dealing with correspondance related to TIP and browsing the TIP Forums.

The other members of the TIP Team also spend a good deal of time working at their respective duties. The fanfic coders usually have to code a story or two each day, and forum moderators always spend AT LEAST and hour browsing the forums. Annie once spent over eight hours working on the forums when she was switching over the message board software.

Q: How much money does it take to run TIP?

A: Again, the answer is A LOT. The base fee TIP pays to its awesome host is $50, but that's just the begining. With the fees paid for additional bandwidth, additional space and site extras, TIP's bill often tops $200 a month.

Q: How many hits do you get a month?

A: See if you can guess... Yup, the answer is A LOT. Check the chart below to see how we've grown since March, when we moved to this server. In July we had over 123,000 INDIVIDUAL VISITS, which adds up to over 11 MILLION HITS. o__0

This chart was saved on August 2, 2005, so the stats for August only reflect the traffic of one day.

Q: Why does Anna do this???

A: "Everybody needs a hobby."

Q: Do you guys know MCR?

A: Only as fans who have been lucky enough to meet, hang out with and interview MCR.

Q: Can you give me all of their AIM names/Email addresses/MySpace accounts?

A: No, because we don't have any of that information. Also, if we did, it would be unethical to give it out. So... No.

Q: What's the best way to meet the band?

A: The best thing to do is show up to the show early (like, five hours early) and stay a few hours late. If you can find where the tour buses are and hang out near there, you're likey to see the members walking around anytime before 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. They're always willing to stop and talk with fans, as long as you remain respectful. Sometimes they might have to run to escape disrespectful fans, but they'll often make their way back to you if you wait patiently.
