A True and Faithful Account of the Illustrious History of The Immortality Project

The Immortality Project is still a relatively new fansite. It was started on February 1st, 2005. In the time since it first began, it's become the most popular MCR fansite on the internet. It was originally hosted by Yahoo!Geocities, and contained nothing more than a few live pictures and one fanfiction story, which Anna herself had written.

Within a month of the site opening, Anna decided to move the site from Yahoo!Geocities to JNC Hosting. With this move came the video downloads that TIP is now so well-known for. Within a 60 day period (March 1st to May 1st), TIP had over 100,000 individual visitors, which translates into over 6 MILLION hits.

After a few months with JNC Hosting, several problems occurred. First, JNC Hosting was sold and all the sites transferred to a new server. In that move, the TIP Forums database was "lost". Many hundreds of dollars were spent trying to regain the database, but nothing could be done. The board remained down for over two months.

Out of frustration, Anna finally switched from JNC Hosting to her own virtual dedicated server, allowing her to host her own files and finally put the board back up. However, she is proud to say that through the two months of uncertainty, TIP remained operational and continued to provide the best and most up-to-date MCR information on the internet.

Still, they say that when it rains, it pours. Shortly after switching to the Virtual Dedicated Server, the TIP photo gallery crashed, and over 2,000 pictures were lost. It took months to reconstruct, and some files are still missing. Regardless, the new galleries still boast an extensive collection of live photos and screencaps.

These days, TIP continues to grow. Our monthly individual visits are always over 150,000, and this number will only increase. With such a high profile among music fans, TIP had been recognized by many organizations as a legitimate news source. Anna is often granted press passes to photograph MCR and other bands, and has been contacted by the likes of FUSE, FanScape and Music@AOL to disseminate press releases. A partnership between TIP and Interlude Magazine in September resulted in the highest number of subscriptions that magazine had seen up to that point.

As the release of The Black Parade approaches, Anna plans even more for TIP, including (finally) a TIP Press site.
