"WHERE IS HE?! WHERE IS HE?! -- MOVE OUT THE BLOODY WAY!" She screamed, pushing away anyone that got in her way, receiving plenty of curses back, though she wasn't staying around to hear them, she was too desperate to find him to see if it was true, to see if her worst nightmare was true. The crowds were all a mess of colours from the tears that were desperately trying to escape her grey eyes.

Eventually, after plenty of curses and shoving she reached an opening to the everlasting crowd.

She stopped dead in her tracks. It couldn't be true, how could it be true? Would God allow something so terrible, happen to someone so innocent?

Laying in the middle of the road was Gerard. His black locks sticking to his wet forehead, his thin trace of eyeliner clumped underneath his hazel eyes, his 'oldschool' headphones lay next to him. He looked so young, so small lying there in the middle of a road, surrounded by random passers-by who wanted to see who the victim was this time, none helped him, it was as if they were scared to, like he was contagious and they didn't want whatever he had.

Slowly, on the brink of tears she walked up to him. She stared at his bruise and battered body, telling herself it wasn't him, it couldn't be him. But she had to accept it, with what little time he had left, she had to savour it and make sure it was a time to remember. She bent down to him, crouched on her knees, she gently touched his shoulder, as his eyes darted over to hers, widening at the pleased shock he had just experienced from seeing her face.

"Amy..." He whispered, scanning her face trying to memorize it for his last moments on earth.

"Hey baby." She replied, choking back her tears, as she looked deep into his hazel eyes. He had so much to give, but had so little time.

"I'm so sorry..." He croaked out, feeling a pang of guilt wash over him, thinking about how he was messing up her life, the one thing he promised himself and her he would never do and he done it... without even meaning to.

"It's okay, it's okay." She just said as a reply. She couldn't think of what to say, to make this time meaningful and worthwhile, it just came to much of a shock she didn't ever think something as tragic as this would ever happen to someone she knew, let alone loved.

"I love you, you know that right?" He asked softly.

"I know. And I love you too, always have and I always will." She replied barely audible, he nodded in understanding.

"Amy, go into my front jacket pocket, pull something out and hand it to me, please." He asked her, not quite able to summon enough strength to hold out such a small task himself. Doing as he told her, she followed out his set of instructions careful not to hurt him in the process and handed him a small box of some sort. He immediately took it from her and looked back at her, ignoring the ever-present crowds of people staring around at the broken hearted couple.

"Amy, I've loved you ever since the day I set eyes on you. I just knew you were the one, you were meant to be the person I spent the rest of my life with. So," He paused to open the shiny black box, revealing a silver banded ring with blue diamonds engraved into it, while she just stared wondering in anticipation in what was about to happen, "this is a promise ring. It means that I will wait for you, when I go wherever I'm meant to go. I will wait for you, no matter how long it takes and someday we will get married, just like we wanted." She felt like screaming for joy, that this was finally happening to her, with someone she loved, someone who shared the same feelings with her, but also felt like screaming out in pain that he was so drastically leaving the world and she couldn't do anything to stop it.

"Do you accept it Amy?" He whispered to her softly.

"Yes, yes I do! Gerard...oh Gerard!" She said, her voice softly filling up with excitement. Gerard just sat there, the pain in his leg was still there, slowly building its' way upwards. While the pain in his head was a droning thud, but all he could feel was joy. She accepted! Carefully he took the ring out of its' case, took her feminine hand and slid the ring onto her finger. It looked so beautiful, so right, he knew she was the one.

Her brown hair was falling in her face and her dark blue, carefully applied eye make-up looked amazing. She was breathtaking, and through all the hardship she had been through in her life, she had come out on the other end. She was truely an angel in disguise.

Slowly the crowds were evaporating realising the couple needed some time alone, they knew they're was nothing that anyone could do to save this poor boy. He was basically a 'goner', something that no-one could bring back, it had happened too many times before to know that he was just another of those who couldn't be saved, so why waste time with ambulances when he could be spending his valuable last moments on earth with the woman he loved. While the crowds thinned, Gerard and Amy just stared into each others eyes, whispering sweet words full of meaning and emotion to each other. Gently Amy lowered herself down on the floor next to her lover, holding him gently to not press any weight against his wounds. She didn't want to loosen her grip for fear of losing him, but didn't want to tighten herself against him in case it put more pressure on the wounds and he left quicker then they had 'planned'...

All they did in those last few moments together was lay in each others arms, whispered a chorus of 'I Love You', while raindrops gently patted against their bodies. Gerard, however much it hurt him in doing so, wrapped his arms around Amy, singing soft lyrics into her ears, lulling her off to sleep. While he let death overtake him...
