Q: What is the Updates Notification List?
A: The list is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. If you sign up, you'll receive notification when TIP is updated, with a short break-down of all the updates that were made. It's very convenient if you're the type of person who checks the site every day, hoping for updates.
A: Just go to the menu tab that reads "Update Notification" and click it. You'll be taken to a page where you can input your Email address and choose to subscribe.
Q: How often will you be contacting me?
A: It depends on how often the site is updated, and which list you register for. When you register for the Updates Notification, you're given a choice between Daily or Weekly updates. If you choose Weekly updates, you'll receive no more than one Email per week. If you choose Daily updates, you'll receive no more than one Email per day. The list for which you register isn't a guarantee that you'll definitely receive an Email every day or even every week. But you will receive Emails as updates are posted based on the timeline you've selected.
Q: I checked the site today and you've posted some updates... Why haven't I gotten an Email yet?
A: As stated before, even if you're registered for the Daily updates list, you will not receive more than one Email a day. We'll wait until the end of the day to send a whole list of updates. Sometimes, if only one or two things have been updated, we'll wait two days to send the list. We don't want to clog your Inbox with useless information.
Q: I signed up for this list but haven't received anything. Why not?
A: There are two possible reasons for this. 1) You may have accidentally entered an incorrect Email address, or 2) Your SPAM filter may be blocking our Emails. We would advise you to check your SPAM folder to see if any of our Emails are in there. If they are, simply tell your filter to allow our Emails through. If they're not, it's likely that you entered an incorrect address when you registered. Just re-register with your correct address.
Q: Can you notify me only about fansite or fanfiction updates?
A: Yes and no. When you register for Weekly or Daily updates, the Emails you receive will always contain information about both fansite and fanfiction updates. You may also choose to register for the Fanfic Only list. If you do so, you'll receive an Email only when the update that day includes a fanfiction update. If there was also a fansite update, that information will be in the Email as well, but you will only receive that information when a fanfiction update is included.
A: We'll certainly try not to! We'll never send you any information that doesn't have something to do with TIP, and we go to great lengths to make sure you don't receive more than one update a day. If you feel bothered by the number of Emails we're sending, or by the content, simply unsubscribe.
Q: Are you going to sell my information?
A: NO WAY IN HELL.
Q: I didn't want to be subscribed to this list. Could you unsubscribe me?
A: No. The only way to be unsubscribed from the list is to do it yourself.
A: You may either follow the link at the bottom of every Update you receive, or unsubscribe from the Updates tab on TIP. Simply input your Email address (the same one you registered with, obviously) and select "Unsubscribe". Nothing to it!
Q: I'm changing Email addresses. How do I make sure the notifications come to my new address?
A: Follow the above instructions to unsubscribe your old address. Resubscribe with your new address. Again, nothing to it!
